HIV risk

Dear Doctor

4 Months back I have visited a barbershop for hair cut. I have got a cut from scissor on my ear by the barber. Cut was very small and few drops of blood come out of it. The barber immediately put some alum stone(potassium alum crystal) on the cut. He used new scissor on me but the same alum stone was used on other customer 10 minutes before used on me.

Now i would like to ask:
1. Can a person get HIV from above said incidence??
2. Have you come across any case in your long carrier where a person got HIV from similar situation??

I am worried, not able to concentrate on important things because of this incidence. Please help. Please give brief reasons for your opinion.

I have read a lot about HIV but not able to convince myself. Your reply on my specific situation as mentioned above will surely help me.

Thanks

As soon as blood hits the air if there is a HIV infection it, it dies very quickly. I do not think you have anything to worry about from what I've read. HIV needs a direct line into your bloodstream. I don't think a small cut constitutes for worry!
