Almost exactly a year ago, I had unprotected vaginal sex with a tourist I met who was visiting my city. It was a dumb, drunken mistake--but one that I have tried to put past me. Looking back on it, I have no reason to suspect he had HIV aside from the fact that he was a stranger who was willing to have unprotected sex with a girl he meets in a different country. Ejaculation did not take place inside me. I cannot say definitively that I experienced any specific ARS symptoms, but I do recall some swollen lymph nodes.
These past two weeks, I have felt swollen lymph nodes in my neck as well as under one armpit (The same areas that were affected a year ago after the exposure, which makes me more nervous). I know people say you cannot diagnose your own swollen lymph nodes, but if they are pretty obvious, I don't see how that could be disputed. I am starting to get very nervous that this could be related to my exposure a year ago. I'm not talking about ARS here...but the asymptomatic phase I am reading about. I am very, very scared and feeling anxious. Any peace of mind someone can give me would be so appreciated.
Thanks
