Hiv test

I had an hiv ag/ab test at 28 days and again at 12 week after possible exposure. Both were negative, yet my doctor still wants me to test a again at 6 months. I always thought 12 weeks was conclusive.  Is there anyone knowledgeable here that can help.l? Thanks. A person performed oral sex(felaio) on me whose status I don't know. They person performed oral sex on another person shortly before doing it to me if that matters.

Total waste of a test and your anxiety.  You had zero risk.  No one has ever been infected by receiving oral sex, and you won't be the first.

FYI, 6 months is outdated anyway.  3 months is conclusive for any test.  But for you, any test is conclusive - and negative - since you had no risk for HIV.

Hi, I agree fully with CurfewX. Your doctor is still stuck on outdated testing times/schedules. I would ask him/her why she/he suggested it; if anything to just set your mind more at ease since you seem to have much anxiety concerning HIV. I can also assure you that as CurfewX has stated, you are at no risk from your experience as HIV is not transferred through saliva. Regards.

Thanks for the reassurance. I gues my main anxiety over the whole incident is the fact that this person performed oral sex on someone else minutes before doing it to me with the possibility of another person's fluids still being in thier mouth, I've been having chronic sinus issues and other symptoms since about a month after this incident happened. It's been tumultuous few months, this is completely out if character for me, it's ruined my marriage.
None of your last post has any bearing on your risk because it has already been discussed in the advice.

1. Saliva doesn't transmit HIV.
2. HIV doctors don't diagnose using symptoms so you are wasting your time trying to do that to work up a theory that you have an HIV disease that you actually can't have.
3. The world is full of people with sinus issues and most of them are negative for HIV like you.
4. I hope you didn't tell your wife you might have HIV. If you did then consider group therapy to help you 2 understand that there is no HIV issue for either of you to keep worrying about. Or you might want to just take therapy alone to get you over your phobia and see if the therapist can suggest some ideas how to get your relationship with your wife back.
