Hi all, I was hoping someone here could give me some advice and clarify some statistics for me.
Basically, 4 days ago I had unprotected vaginal intercourse with a woman of unknown hiv status...
after the sex, she was experiencing pain because of ovarian cyst... at which point I was very concerned, at first she told me not to worry that I could not get disease from the ovarian cyst, and based on my reaction which may have seemed not very warm and calming, and more so kind of worried and bugging out, she was very annoyed and got angry and said something like "what do you think I gave you some kind of disease!!??"
later on come to find out this woman is very poor and living with her parents... started to worry is this some kind of homeless person and therefore potentially high risk for hiv...
finally, i have psoriasis and after the sex noticed bleeding on my penis...
so all in all, i had unprotected vaginal sex with woman of unknown hiv status, who acted very defensive about possible disease... i kept asking her are you sure you dont have something you want to tell me.. just be honest,, she never said she was hiv positive... we were both very drunk
basically, my question is should i have gone for pep?? based on one intercourse but i had some bleeding on head of penis due to psoriasis?? and she may have had bleeding ovarian cyst.
here's my other question... from what I have read there is a 1/1000 chance of getting hiv from a woman based on one intercourse and there is a 1/100 chance of getting hiv from male homosexual sex due to more potential for rectal bleeding etc...
do you think based on my bleeding, that the chance of me getting hiv if she had it would be closer to the 1/100???
thank you so much for any advice/response anyone can provide!!
