Negative rapid test

Hello all,

I have been told that with my exposure mentioned earlier I have been at no risk. But finding 2 swollen lymph nodes made me panic and anxiety has been killing me. So I got a rapid finger prick test done and the non-reactive/negative results were out in less than 2 minutes. I got this test done at around 90 days from the day I last deep kissed the girl. My lymph nodes have been persistent since 4 months they cannot be seen but confirmed by my gp and they are palpable.

1)I just was to know is the finger prick test as reliable as all other tests?

2)Are there chances of a false negative result?

3) Do lymph nodes remain swollen for over 3 months?

4) And at majority of the websites I read that the results at the 3 month period is conclusive but some places also mentioned testing at 6 months is conclusive

Even after 1 month of the test the lymph nodes remain swollen

Thank you once again, Vance. You told me even earlier that I Had no risk and I appreciate and understand that. I'm sure you you understand the thought of this whole thing is killing.

I have understood through this forum that symptoms mean nothing that is why I got a test done. And the test was negative. So just wasn't to know about the accuracy of the finger prick test. I have read this test is not an antigen test but only an antibody test. Is an antibody test enough at the 90 day mark or is there a test needed at 6 months or any other kind of testing needed?

who says your lymph nodes are swollen? the doctor? they may just be tender a a result of you continuously poking and prodding in an anxious state.
forget about hiv...just stick to wearing condoms for vaginal and anal sex and you'll avoid hiv.
