Playing Soccer

Hello,

About 5 weeks ago i was playing soccer with a bunch of friends on the sand at a beach without shoes.  While playing i was running for the ball out of bounds and stepping on something sharp which felt like a needle.  I then checked the bottom of my foot and noticed a small poke.  I quickly looked around to see if I can see a needle but didnt see one and i had to get back into the game.

If in fact what i stepped on may have been a contaminated needle with hiv pos blood in the needle hollow, have i placed myself at risk?  Please advise.

Thanks.

I should also say even in the healthcare field it is not common when someone gets poked with a needle does trasnmission occur.

We don't do the "what if" game here.
Being poked with a needle is not a risk. Nothing is injected into you. Only healthcare settings have resulted in transmission form needles.
