Hi so I'll give a timeline of my case
2/12/2016: my ex had unprotected sex with a guy of unknown HIV status
21/1/2017: i had unprotected sex with her, it was my first time, and only spent 10 seconds inside of her
28/1/2017: she came back negative HIV (7weeks after her first risky exposure)
5/3/2017: i start feeling symptoms 7 weeks after i has sex with her like fever(mild, up to 37.4 armpit) and sore throat and also swollen glands in the neck(painful when i swallow)
7/3/2017 I took a rapid antibody test and came out negative (7 weeks post risky exposure)
10/3/2017: the fever has gone down but i feel some sharp pain in my muscles and joints, they hurt when i touch them
Up to now, she is yet to feel any symptoms
My questions are:
1. How high is the risk of being infected by HIV in my case (10 secs of unprotected sex, and the fact that it was my first)?
2. Does the progression of my symptoms lead to HIV? Especially the muscle and joint aches + swollen neck lymph nodes?
3. Is rapid antibody testing at 7 weeks a good indicator of my status?
4. Is testing for antibody just days after feeling symptoms the right thing to do?
Thank you very much!!!
