Please someone comment on my situation as i am at a very tight spot these days. Please help me.
I have developed on/off pain in my thumb joints and big toe joints for few weeks now. has anyone else experienced this lately.
If more than 28 days have passed you can get a 4th generation duo HIV test done that will pick up any infection, as the test is very accurate after 4 weeks for HIV.
I would test now,for all stds including HIV just to make sure to rule out more common stds like chlamydia/gono/NGU.
All regulations say that you should again test at 12 weeks to have a conclusive result but anything past 4 weeks is accurate for HIV.
Dr Hook and Handsfield say it is conclusive at 4 weeks Dr Hook has said the below;
All 3rd generation tests for HIV including the INSTI finger stick test are antibody tests which must perform similarly to receive approval to be sold. This is the case in the U,S., the U.K. and throughout most of the world. 3rd generation HIV antibody tests detect about 90% of recent infections at 4 weeks, 95% at 6 weeks and 99+% of infections at 8 weeks. 4th generation combination HIV antigen/antibody tests provide completely reliable, conclusive tests at 4 weeks.
Package insert assessments and the assessments of many governmental organizations are more conservative than is warranted by research studies, in part because they are bound by the original design of their studies (i.e. if they say they will assess HIV infection rates at 12 weeks, that is what they must officially report, even if they had actually detected all infections by 8 weeks) and in part because of a conservative outlook in which they cannot "afford" to be wrong. This leads to unnecessary apprehension in people.
Trust me stress and anxiety can cause all sorts of 'symptoms' I went through it recently.
Always use a condom if you are going to visit a csw or have sex with someone you don't know,it is not worth the risk.
Also oral sex is no risk for HIV and low risk for other more common stds.
Try to relax and get tested,and trust me do not spend hours on the net looking up symptoms....it will make things so much worse and bring on more anxiety.
