Do I have HIV

I need some answers like yesterday please. I've been sick for months. In March/April 2009 I had unprotected sex with a female friend I've known for years and have had sex with countless times in the past. She is a normal clean cut woman in her 40's, not that it matters. In late April/early May I developed these huge pimples on my back and chest. Around the same time I developed this slimy disgusting taste in my mouth that would not go away. To date both problems still exist and my tongue is now looking hairy. I've been to my family doctor countless times over the past few months. My lymph nodes in my neck, armpits and groin are huge and my doctor acknowledges same.
I went to the HIV clinic on 6/4/09 and took an oral swab HIV test. The test was negative, but I was only cleared as of March 4th. I then went to my family doc who gave me an HIV blood test and a PCR viral load test. Both came back negative and he advised me that it was medically impossible that I had HIV. My symptoms over the summer have persisted. Acne on back, pounding headaches, ear and jaw pain, fat swollen white and hairy tongue. I do smoke. My doc did swab my tongue and it came back positive for oral candidis. My acne came back negative for anything. He said I was stressed out. I had yet another HIV blood test on 6/15/09. Negative again. Doc said I'm stressed. Lymph nodes still huge. Returned to HIV clinic on 7/28/09 and 8/20/09 for oral swab test. Both negative. Problems still persist. Called and met with an Infectious Disease Doc who acknowledged my lymph nodes, tongue and back. At this time my joints are killing me, ankles, knees, hips, wrists and elbows and I'm constanty having muscle spasms and pain. Inf. Dis. Doc sends me for bloodwork on 8/15/09. HIV test negative again. Now I'm at like 4 1/2 months and he says I'm "probably" in the clear. I'm having so many medical issues that point in the direction of HIV and yet I test negative. I read stuff everywhere that says it could take 6 months to show up. The woman I was with has zero complaints. Can someone please tell me my deal. I'm losing my mind.

Address your concerns with your Dr. Rest assured they are NOT HIV related. You're risking a ban by continuing this myopic and HIV phobic ranting.

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a CONCLUSIVE NEGATIVE RESULT or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. CONCLUSIVE NEGATIVE RESULTS or a no-risk situation will be based up the criteria MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the NEGATIVE RESULT / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

I'm still having issues. My tongue looks like someone plastered paste on it and I can barely move without major pain in my groin (both sides) and every joint in my body cracks even with the slightest movement.

Thanks JC. I'll hopefully sleep a bit better from your advice along with everyone elses. Thanks!

I can't speak for your IFD. I can tell you that per  CDC Guidelines, a NEGATIVE obtained after 3 months is CONCLUSIVE. Traditionally, the CDC has been exceedingly conservative on this issue.

I appreciate the support, but why do I read 6 months and why does my IFD doc say I "could" get tested at 6 months. As I sit here my calves, armpits and fatty chest tissue are killing me?

A CONCLUSIVE NEGATIVE antibody result is obtained after 3 months. My answer remains the same.

I need to correct myself...last blood test on 9/15/09, not 8/15/09...and not HCV...ruled that out...that one I can believe.

There are NO "HIV SYMPTOMS" If you are referring to ARS (Seroconversion illness) they generally come all at once between 2-4 weeks after exposure. They last 1-2 weeks and go away all at once. Some people experience NO symptoms and others are so severe they end up in the hospital. HIV can NEVER be diagnosed or assumed due to the presence or absence of ANY symptoms.

In Concerned8185's case, it's confirmed that his symptoms have NOTHING to do with HIV due to his CONCLUSIVELY NEGATIVE HIV STATUS.
