What is the reason?

what was the reason why the rules regarding the window period changed from 6 months to 3 months?
was it due to better testing equipment?
was it due to new understading of the virus?

Thankx for the help :)

My test was done in one of the biggest and oldest private hospitals in thye country. I dont think its an ancient test but I am not sure that its 4th generation test. So my 3 months would be conclusive?

They have to have the proper equipment to even run the tests to begin with except for Rapid tests which don't need any equipment to process.
