If anyone could enlighten me with a website or readings that are contary to those on CDC or HIV institute that state sex toys are a risk for HIV.
It is stated on this website but confirmed with any factual information.
Can anyone provide this?
This is to all the forum as well
Thank you for your help, I do appreciate it, and am sorry for wasting your time. Just as you could understand very worrying at the moment three weeks after or so after with a mild sore throat and a sore bloated stomach and no appetite. I can't explain why and just want reassurance that it is imposible to get HIV from a sex toy.
I have called a clinic and they do advice sharing of sex toys to be risky.
How about taking a trip to the STD testing center and pay and ask your questions. We've been over this enough with you.
So what new information or literature points towards a new theory that HIV can't survive outside the body at all because i cant find it?
Do you know where I should look to find it?
So which one is it?
I understand that the amounts in studies are not found in normal concerntrations and should not be used as a guide. BUT why would the CDC say that HIV can be transmited through sex toys if it can't? Are they just safe guarding or talking in theory? I know that there has been little proven in this area but why is this a gray area?
Incorrect interpretations of conclusions drawn from laboratory studies have in some instances caused unnecessary alarm.
Results from laboratory studies should not be used to assess specific personal risk of infection because the amount of virus studied is not found in human specimens or elsewhere in nature.
I find the info on the CDC website a bit contradictory. On the one hand they describe the lab studies on high conc of virus outside the body stating the virus takes several hours to fall by 99% with drying. But, then state the risk to be essentially zero for normal concentrations and mention the quote teak gives. But, on the same page it says sharing of sex toys is a big no no where HIV is concerned. Plus, they mention the importance of sterilisation for ear piercing and tattoos. Again, wouldn't be needed if they were so sure that HIV couldn't be transmitted outside the body. So what gives? I guess they don't really know how well HIV transmits outside the body so they air on the side of caution.
No it wouldn't, now move on.
Would you agree that if a vibrator was used right after another person there could be an oportunity for transmition if it was imediate?
No it's not true and you need to move along.
I understand it would stop the spread of other STDs but what about the above couple that Justin talked about?
This is the same thing I was talking about.
This seams to be a possible method of transmition? Is that True?
Yeah I read about that lesbian couple. I wonder what it takes to verify something for the CDC. I believe it is possible if the fluids are fresh and it has blood.
Why do web sites advocate for the use of condoms on sex toys to prevent HIV?
No there is not a verified documented case of HIV transmission by sex toys.
I have searched the net and there has been one case where a Lesbian Couple transmited HIV to one another through shared use of toys.
This would contridict this theory?
It was said through that there was almost imediate transfur of the toys between the couple.
Would this explain this case?
1) No risk...its theoretical.
2) No testing needed
3) thats okay
4) we go by facts, and that is you will not get HIV this way
Why are there recomendations to cover toys, and what risks associated with these things?
Should I get tested if a woman used her sex toy on me and only me?
I know she has used it on herself but not for the time we were together?
Why does this website differ from other sites?
This is the actual information the CDC states; HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
