Clarification....Hemophelia is not the same as being immunosuppresed. One is the name of a blood disorder and the other term means one a person's immune system is greatly compromised. Examples of people who are immunocompromised would be....aggressive chemo, terminal cancer, pts taking anti-rejection meds post an organ transplant.
The general population of people (who are NOT immunocompromised) can receive their conclusive HIV test result at 3 months. The other, very small group of people need to test to 6 months, as it may take a little bit longer for them to develop antibodies.
Even in a person with immunosuppression, they still only need to test to 6 months, and most would test POS by the 3 month mark anyway.
Ok thank you very much, you put my anxiety at ease
No dont worry..Unless you have heamophilia (ie no immune system) by 3 months the test will be concusive.. the test start showing results from 6 weeks on a healthy immune system
