WRONG.. Fingering is not a risk of contracting HIv.
I should have elaborated that the risk is small, but is risk nonetheless. In any case you should see your PCP for tests to eliminate any concerns or anxieties you may have.
Also, I believe there might be some sort of prophylaxis therapy that can help reduce the risks associated with HIV (I'm not entirly certain of this but it is a vague conversation I had overheard in the past).
I'm not the doctor but I do know that HIV is transmitted through bodily fluids. If your finger has any open wound (even a small cuticle tear/paper cut) there is the possibility of contracting HIV from "fingering" an infected person. HIV cannot live long at all outside of the body. However, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C can and often does occur so any blood outside of the body should be cleaned up immediately using universal safety precautions.
