His symptoms after 8 weeks possible?

Hi, 8 weeks ago I had a drunken one night stand with a 19 year old Australian (presumably straight heterosexual) male. I don't know if he does any drugs or if he could also be bisexual as I don't know him. A condom was used but due to being so drunk I didn't take much notice if it broke or fell off at any point or if he even took it off (my first sexual partner used to take them off halfway through which is what gives me that worry) ever since I have been paranoid of hiv. I booked in for a test said to be a duo test at a sexual health clinic that deals with a lot of Hiv patients at 6 weeks. A week later I returned and got negative results for hiv, gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia. (I also tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea after one week since and this was just an extra follow up) however a week since I got my results, two weeks after the blood test, and eight weeks since the sex, I have developed a cold. I have a sore throat, runny nose, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, and think I can feel a swollen lymph node on one side of my neck. It is scaring me so much. Is this acute Hiv infection symptoms? Do you think I could have got them 8 weeks post exposure? And the duo test could have been wrong? Or do you think I could have got it from the blood test 2 weeks ago, if I didn't already have it? I am so scared again, after receiving negative results and the dr confirmed it conclusive I felt so relieved but then I got sick and it's brought all of the worrying back :(

Also, I have a sore on the roof of my mouth I thought was a blister but I think I got it from eating hot pizza but I'm not sure
And I have occasionally had little blood blisters on my mouth, little red dot and I've popped them and squeezed it out to get rid of it. Do you think I have him and the results were wrong or it was too early to detect? :(

Okay thank you for explaining that, I didn't take any PEP or PrEPand am not on chemotherapy. Just went to dr and said I had a cold, didn't mention anything to him about my hiv anxiety though. He prescribed me amoxil antibiotics for my cold/infection whatever it is. I hope they won't cause any delays in whether anything would've picked up at 3 months or not. This and the cold and flu tablets I've been taking the last few days is the first medication other than Panadol for headaches I have taken since the incident

Some rare delayed Seroconversion cases are related to people taking chemotherapy, PEP, PrEP, taking immunosuppressive drugs, etc. If you had some of those chronic conditions your doctor could advise you to test beyond the three months mark. But you don't have any condition that could affect a possible seroconversion.

So, in conclusion you can trust your tests and follow the general suggestions given to anybody else.

Thank you for your answers :) I think I am just worried because everything on the internet is so vague and says how there's no definite answer on symptoms because everyone is different so it makes me think maybe I'm different? And I've read some people don't develop the antibodies for 3-6 months? So does that mean they go through seroconversion sickness later? But since I had a duo test even if I hadn't gone through it yet it would have still detected antigens right?

Hello, ARS symptoms, when they occur, do it around between 2 to 6 weeks after exposure, with most people having them around 3 weeks. 8 weeks would be too long for that.

Your duo test at 6 weeks is almost as good as conclusive, according to CDC you should take any test at 12 weeks after exposure just to be extra sure, but a result like yours is extremely unlikely to change.

Only a doctor could tell you to skip that confirmatory test.

Surely you didn't catch HIV while you were being tested, HIV is not transmitted in that way, test are safe and the people who handle them are extra careful.

Hi and thanks for ur comment on my post. I just want to help u also and say that ur symptoms are definitely not from hiv but most probably due to severe anxienty. Life is short dont waste it in things that dont count. Let it go and ur symptoms will also go.

Update: just got up in the middle of the night to vomit and felt really dizzy, ringing in ears, vision going blurry, hot and sweaty while vomiting
This has happened to me before during panic attacks, maybe I was worrying about my throat killing me waking me up and worried about my lymph nodes that it brought ons panic episode but maybe it was a symptom of the nausea :(
I don't know how to tell
My sore throat has now moved from the middle of my throat to just one side, the side where I can feel lymph nodes on my neck and when I swallow it feels like it hurts that side of the throat and in my ear a little bit.
