An STD ? But its been a week now nd we still having intercourse ..but what about my blood thay touched his penis ...whats that? Please answer anyone ...help!
Thanks Teak! This helps me understand.
I will get tested in 4 weeks, 6 weeks and then 3 months. And will always remember to wear protection.
HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions, therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
Thanks again Teak!
I don't mean to bug you but can you please briefly explain why I wouldn't be at any risk even if my penis head was in contact with menstrual blood from a sex worker? Please?
I don't mean to bother you or panic unnecessarily... but I just want to know and understand.
It will really help me. Please?
Go back and reread the reply that I gave you.
Thanks Teak for your prompt response! When you say I didn't have a risk - is it because the contact of penis head with the blood was outside the vagina? I have read/heard from diff sources that HIV infection won't survive outside its host... but I'm not sure whether my condition was exactly that. I used a condom and did not penetrate the sex worker unprotected but not sure if the contact with menstrual blood in my case was the same/ has the same risk as having unprotected vaginal sex with a sex worker while she was menstruating.
When is the earliest you recommended I get tested after this encounter? 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months?
Thanks again. You guys do a thankless job of responding to so many question (very often repeated over and over) but as a worried person I can say that your responses are very helpful.
Truly appreciate you guidance!
You didn't have a risk and you don't need nPEP.
