hiv risk from tattoo

Hi
About 8 months ago I had a tattoo done in Thailand, I saw him opening a new needle in front of me but i cant remember the cleanliness of the other equipment or if he used fresh ink or not. 3 days after that I had a rash, high fever and diarrhea. The doctors diagnosed me with chicken pox and I think it was because the pimples left a scar after they were scratched. But then after 3 months that, I had flu like symptoms like fatigue, muscle aching, sneezing, sore throat, and a swollen gland on my neck. I took antibiotics and it went away after a week or so. Now i have read about the HIV acute syndrome and the symptoms are like the ones I had. am I being paranoid or is there a real possibility of me being infected?

HIV could not stay active in the ink. After 30 years you aren't going to make history and become the first person to contract HIV from a tattoo.

Thank you Teak for the response, I know there has never been any reported cases of tattoo transmission but what if I am a case. I am still worried about the ink. What if he used unclean ink, could the virus live in it as it is fluid?
