I think you forgot a zero. Actually it's 5 per 10,000. Or, 1 in 2,000. Some say 1 in a 1,000.

HIV is hard virus to get infected with. Example: If you had a vaginal sex with someone who is know to have the virus your chance to get hiv is 5 per 1000
