hello every body
iam 29 male health , before 1 week i went to hospital and i think iam expose to contminated needle becuse the nurse open the needle and put it on disposal contaminated box , bad thing no one here know somting about PEP
so after 3 days i start to have mild fever it always 38 with mild sore throt , fever , light headche , diarrhea , muscle ache which typical symptoms of virus infection , today i complete 7 day dirrhea little improve no rash  no lympth node sweeling but still fell dizzy sorethroat fever  so my direct qustion is
can we consider that acute ARS?
can the ars start that soon less than 10 days
if my symptoms consider acute hiv so my elisa now will suspect come +

As Chima has clearly explained, you had NO RISK and DO NOT NEED TO TEST.

You do NOT have ARS! It can take 2-6 weeks for those symptoms to show up and sometimes they don't show up at all........but they DO NOT show up 4 HOURS later!

Fever, diarrhea and sweating are symptoms of mild flu. Rest and stay hydrated.

i read in many website , the virus is difficult to life in or on the surface because need live host to replicate
but i remmber that moment he give the injection at 3 am

HIV does not survive on non living surfaces where air continues to break down the virus. HIV can ONLY infect INSIDE a living host. It is not physically possible for the virus to survive out in the open sitting on surfaces.

And yes it's possible to have the flu for much longer than a week. My mom got the flu in early March and only just started feeling better a week ago. It's not uncommon for the type of flu that is prevalent now to stay around for a very long time.

What exactly was your risk? Did you get needle stuck?

Since you are a healthcare worker in a hospital, there should be an emergency plan in place for events such as these.

You should have immediately alerted your supervisor and been assessed for PEP treatment.

ARS symptoms do NOT show up in 3 days! Some people may experience strong flu-like symptoms 2-6 WEEKS after infection, and ARS only lasts a week or so.
Some people don't even experience anything at all.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a "checklist of HIV symptoms" that we can use to determine an infection and we STRONGLY discourage people not to (self)diagnose HIV by looking at symptoms. Testing is the ONLY way to diagnose HIV.

Your symptoms are almost certainly related to the flu or an upper respiratory infection and definitely ANXIETY.

Before we can actually advise you to test, we need to know exactly what your risk was. The fact that an RN left a used sharp on top of the Bio-Hazard container instead of making sure it went inside only tells us she was careless and unprofessional...........not what YOUR risk was.

Please let us know if you had an actual needle stick.
