What surgery are you going in? You don't have to tell if you want to keep it privately. Let me know what your heart Dr said. Take care.
Morning Pika - I actually don't get reports when I get a monitor (holter or event type). The doctor just tells me I have this and that and we're done. I'm not all that interested in how many PAC's, PVC's and tachy times I have in a day or month. I know I have them but keeping a tally doesn't do anything for me.
I am going to see the cardio this morning to hear how my last 30 day event monitor went. I only recorded 4 things out of a bunch (42 tachys and 11 chest pains). They all seem like the same old stuff I've had for years so I just chose a few for samples. I'll see what the doc says today. He has to clear me for surgery next week.
Hi Ireneo,
What is your holter report said? Have you read mine?
I'm glad you have the monitor on. Glad your BP machine is close to the doctor's. The monitor will be able to record the irregular beats and they can "see" what the heart is trying to do. It's amazing how much they can tell from all those random spikes. Some heart arrhythmias, though not normal, are very harmless. They may tell you something like that. Ask them to explain more clearly what's going on, what is it called and what can be done for it if anything. Think hard between now and when you see the doctor again. Write down any questions that pop into your mind. That's their job to help you, even if it just means giving you some peace of mind. Good luck.
yes i do have alot going on . I now have a halter monoter on . on the blood preshure thing it has to be right because i took it after coming back form the dr and it said the same thing mine did.
I am 32 years old and have had alot of problems . When i was born i was a premie i came 2 months early . They thought i was a water head babie . Back in the 70's they just watched kids with big heads . that is all they did to me and since i grew into my head i was ok until my late 20 's then everything hit. I am verry conserned. I just got my problems fixed and now this.
You do have a lot going on. I'm not a doctor so these are just my random thoughts. I've read that certain valve conditions can cause arrhythmias and you have a valve problem. The shunt runs "down the left side" but where exactly? You have a vagal nerve that runs down the chest area and certain things can stimulate it. Although I use vagal stimulation to slow my heart beat when it's going too fast. I'm wondering if the vagal nerve is involved somehow. You take meds for hypothyroidism - perhaps that needs to be adjusted to a lower dose. One last thing, maybe your BP monitor is off. They do need to be calibrated occasionally. So, with all that said, when was the last time you saw your doctor or better yet, a cardiologist? It might be time. Take care.
