why are my ectopic beats increasing with age

I have had 100% conscious awareness of my heart beating since I was a child. I can feel every beat of my heart, every variation in pulse, etc,  every waking moment of my life. I only began experiencing skipped heartbeats at age 27. I started having *one* skipped beat once in a blue moon, once a month or so. Now I am 35 and I have them much more frequently. I will go weeks without them, but then have episodes where I have a great many. I estimate that, at my worst, I am having a hundred or so in 24 hours (though, I am possibly underestimating the total).

But why am I experiencing more as I age? Why am I experiencing them at all?

I have had for over 30 years started out a few now they are bad, I get them like every other beat sometimes, they last 24 hours like that, drives me crazy, today they have been on and off, but my tummy feels up set and acid reflux seems to be acting up so maybe that's what's causing them, I seem to burp with mine with is crazy I know,   Sometimes no burps but today it is lol

I know this is not an answer, but the PVCs, Ectopics are capricious, as one doctor labeled them. my worst episode was this pastspring into summer, which led me to this forum, thank God, I have met some very good people here. 5300 Ectopics in 41 hrs of holter...all, benign, and still no ill effects, except that horrible feeling...the crazy beats. It is a vicious cycle. they are a part of our makeup, those of us that are fortunate/unfortunate to feel them. my cardiologist said that it was good I could feel these, that it meant I had a good "alert system". also, some GERD problems can cause them, adrenaline, positional PVCs, vagus nerve, etc. These things are annoying, and apparantly very sensitive to coming and going as they please. I take an anti anxiety agent, and beta blockers to keep mine at least at some rest.

I truly relate to your anxiety over these PVCs. just hang in there, and visit your doctor, for some peace of mind.

best toyou

You ask the magic questions my friend. I wish we knew why or how... And the magic cure but many times, we just don't. What we do know is those of us who have more then "normal" tend to have a goofy electrical system within our heart that can cause them to be more frequent. How that got there, we may never know. But once that pathway is activated, it tends to be, well... there.

I was very conscience of my heart beat as well. Especially when all this crap started, but I have since gotten much better, thank God. My Cardio told me its about learning to forget your heartbeat, distracting yourself. It should be white noise, not something we ever really pay any attention too.

Easier said then done, I know.
