Changes in Echo

I posted last week about having elevated Pulmonary Pressure and having to see a Pulmonologist for further testing. Well, I'm seeing a Pulmonologist tomorrow and had to get a copy of my Echocardiologram Report.

It shows that within the last 6 months

- Mitral, Tricuspid, and Pulmonary Regurgitation

- My Pulmonary Pressure went up from 35 to 40 (35 is on the high side of normal)

So, my question is, what do these changes mean and what could have caused them? All of my other Echo's have been normal. The only thing I have done differently in the past 6 months was take the herbs for my Lyme Disease. While I feel better in some areas, my heart symptoms haven't improved much.

Thank you very much for your opinions. I am so confused about all this.

My heart symptoms are PVC's, chest pain, shortness of breath, "vibrating" feeling near my heart. I also have dizziness, but I don't know if that's a heart issue or not.

I was just reading your post....I also had an echo...my cardiologist told me that my pulmonary pressure was at 35 also....he told me he shouldn't have even told me ( I get anxiety attacks pretty easy..lol) but it scared me....he didn't seem to worried about me...not like I thought he should be....can you tell me what can of "heart symptoms" you have? I swear all mine are from my elevated pressures....I tell him about what I feel and he just tells me "I never should have told, you're fine"......

I just checked the report and it does say trace regurgitation.

I'm not really sure what elevated pulmonary pressure is, though I think it's the ability to get blood flowing to the lungs. My Cardiologist said that my pulmonary pressure was 35 in January, which is on the high side of normal, but that it shouldn't have raised to 40 in such a short span of time, leading him to believe that I may have Pulmonary Hypertension.

But, I'm also reading that 18 is normal for an adult, so that would mean that even 35 was high.

I think tricuspid regurgitation is associated with pulmonary pressure.  There is a post on the Expert forum where the doctor explains a little about the tricuspid valve.  Like jules said, look for a descriptive word before the valve names.  If it's not listed, that may mean it is not significant...??
