HIgh Distolic reading

I have a history of hypertension---now my top numbers are great 120-110----but my bottom numbers always range from 90 to 120---Why is this?

Hello.

I don't understand your numbers completely, it would help if you could provide some examples of systolic/diastolic pairs, like "120/90"

It doesn't make sense that your top numbers are in the range 110-120 and bottom numbers in the range 90-120. You can't have a blood pressure of 120/120, for example.

If you have a history of hypertension, and you've suddenly developed a low pulse pressure (high diastolic, low systolic), I recommend visiting a cardiologist to examine the pumping power of your heart, as mentioned above.

If your pulse pressure (systolic minus diastolic) is lower than 25 on a regular basis it could be a sign of low ejection fraction. A trip to the dr is certainly in order.

If your bottom number is that high you need to see a doctor to get it under control especailly if it is consistantly that high. The 90 is not so bad but 100 is not good and the 120 is really starting to get dangerous.
