Wow, just to get this out there, I love dolphins too. :o)
Thank you for the reply. I know I do need to get checked. I have so much going on, with health problems, that I just have to try and find time to get this checked out. I appreciate your response, it helps me understand. So, PVC's are normal, if that is what it is?
Thanks again.
Don't be afraid that you will find something horrible. Based on what you describe, you are probably experiencing a VERY COMMON arhythmia known as PVC's or PAC's (premature ventricular or atrial contractions). As scaredjo stated these are usually completely benign and often have NOTHING TO DO with a heart deformity or ailment. PVC's are caused by cells in your heart that fire/contract at the "wrong time." These cells are usually part of the natural pacemaker, and they cause your heart to hiccup. Just as diaphragmatic hiccups are harmless, so to are these PVC's assuming you have a healthy and structurally normal heart.
As scaredjo said though, it is important that you be checked out by a doctor. While these "flutters" or skipped beats are often benign, they CAN be caused by other health issues that can range from mild to severe. One common cause of palpitations is thyroid disfunction and it is often the first thing checked when you go to the doctor. If you have a complete workup and all is found to be fine, then you will learn to feel these things now and again and continue "as normal." But I cannot stress enough how important it is to have the workup done initially.
Be well.
Thank you for the comment. I knwo I need to get to a doctor, as I have not done so yet. I have been hoping it is just a fluke and am scared to find out otherwise. I don't like thinking something could be wrong with my heart, especially since there are enough health problems my family has been dealing with. I will get checked soon, though. Do you know why you have the flutters? My mom has mitro valve prolapse, so maybe that is what is wrong with me.
hiya have you been checked by a doctor? if not i would get checked out firstly.
most flutters and missed beats arent dangerous i have had them for 15 years but it would be wise for the doctor to see you
