I just had a cardiac ablation for AVNRT two days ago. (I also have inappropriate sinus tachycardia but there's not much to do about that.) Afterwards, my cardiologist took me off my Flecainide and Diltiazem and put me on 10mg of Nadolol which I can increase to 20mg after a week if I feel like doing so. I was still feeling good from the sedation at the time, so I didn't question it but Nadolol is used to lower blood pressure and my blood pressure already runs low, so that's unnecessary. I wasn't prescribed anything else, no blood thinners, nothing. The only other medication I take is Clonazepam .25mg at night as well which I am slowly weaning off. I am 27 and otherwise healthy so is just taking only a low dose beta blocker after ablation ok? He's a great doctor and hasn't led me wrong yet, but I'm nervous about clotting. I mean, they cut open my veins and poked around in my heart! Should I question this?
