medication dosage ?

A year and 1/2 ago my heart was in atrial fibrillation and after it went back into normal sinus rhythm I was placed on 100 milligrams of atenolol and one lose dose aspirin per day in the A.M.  Although my heart pretty much stays in rhythm I have not been feeling well lately.  I feel light headed tired, have minor pressure in my chest and my heartrate is now in the low 50's.  I entered the hospital and had many tests (blood tests revealed no enzymes that would have indicated the possibility of a heart attack), a stress test which revealed no problems, also x-rays, and an echocardiogram that gave us no indication of a problem.
Is is possible that I need to change / lower the dose of atenolol to help with my tiredness, dizzyness etc?

I had a-fib in March so I know what it is like.  Sorry you are feeling poorly.  It is good news that all the tests were negative.

When you were in the hospital, did they montior your heart rhythm to determine if there is a rythm problem (e.g. a-fib)?  Sometimes you may not feel a rhythm problem but it can show up on the monitor.

With respect to the HR in the 50's, is this a change from your normal HR and do you excercise regularly (may drive resting heart rate lower)?

If you are concerned about the medication, definitely discuss with your cardiologist and/or Pharmacist.  Ask specific questions about your concerns.

Good luck.

I was on Atenolol a couple of years ago for my A-fib and it knocked me out. I was tired all the time. I spoke to my EP and she changed my meds.
