Not sure where to turn

My best friend is a male 47 years old. Has had Catheter ablation 5 years ago to find out that his heart is under developed for a man his age. Since then they have put him on medication that he takes, specifically what medication i do not have that information at this time. He has been to ER several times over the past 5 years for the racing. We live in Akron, Ohio and I think we need to go to the Cleveland Clinic or University Hospital but I am not sure whom we contact. Since his heart is under developed for his age we need pediatrics? This seems to affect all aspects of his life. he is at times severly depressed because i am sure that at times he feels as though he is less of a man. I know this is not the case but I am sure he can not help but feel that way sometimes. i have researched SVT so i understand what we are dealing with I am just not sure where to send us for more help. His regular medical doctor wants him to go back to see the cardiologist however, I am not sure that the cardiologist is our answer.

I have no idea what "underdeveloped" in a adult means... too small?  something missing?

The size of the heart varies and not just by size of the individual.  I think this is what we see in some athletes, say a marathon runner, who can get enough oxygen to the muscles over a long period of time...they have an unusual cardiovascular system..which may include larger hearts and lungs, I believe.  I mention this only as a statement that a "small" physical heart doesn't make one less of a person, but may limit there ability to do extreme athletics.

The Cleveland Clinic is a top heart hospital, and would be an excellent place to contact.  I  believe they provide a means to contact them over the web, via their web site.  They also offer, for a fee, consultation based on medical facts provided by your doctor(s)... a "second opinion" for example.

It looks like your friend's first ablation didn't work very well.  The Cleveland Clinic would be an excellent place for him to go.  I don't think he would need to see a pediatric cardiologist, just a good electrrophysiologist.  That's the only place he's going to get the answers he needs.  I wish him good luck and good care.
