vaso BAGEL

Hi my name is Matthew Gay and I am a 22 year old African American Male from Pontiac,MI. And my reason
for writing is when I was around 8 or 9 I passed out riding a bike racing. I was told I have vaso BAGEL, My question is now I play college basketball should I watch my vaso BAGEL, Or could it be gone. I have done test to see my heart rate and everything came back fine. I have passed out 4 times in my life, at the age of 8, 15, 19, 20 after I pass out I have to use the bathroom, and than I'm fine. From time to time I have killer headaches and sometimes i feel lite headed when doing nothing. I have never passed out when playing basketball at full steam. What would you say ?

I think what the doctor may have been saying is that you were having a vasovagal event (sounds like "vaso bagel"), that your vagus nerve caused you to pass out.  Vasovagal syncope (passing out because of the activity of your vagus nerve) is not dangerous itself - you lose consciousness, you regain it, everything is fine.  However, it's what happens after you pass out that can cause injury.  Like passing out while walking down stairs.  Or passing out when your friends nearby have Sharpie markers or shaving cream.  Probably just as dangerous.  ;)

I'm not sure what you're asking - if you're asking could you die from it, the answer is no.  If you're asking could you wake up with a big, black moustache drawn on your face?  Very likely.  But in all seriousness, Google vasovagal syncope.  You'll find that the only real danger is the injuries you might sustain on the way to the ground when you pass out.

Hope that helps.
