Is this a hemorroid? Please help

Hi there. I am sorry for the embarrasing question but I am really uncomfortable. About 5 days ago I started to notice a slight pressure at the top of my  anus, which layer turned its a harder ball right on the enterence to my anus. In the last 2 days it has become uncomfortable and makes walking odd. It stings from time to time. A few days prior to it happening I did not feel well and did vomit. Also sat down on the toilet rather hard and kind of pulled my butt cheeks apart in a painful manner. Also, my wife of many years had herpes when I met her and I never got tested but assume a have it, never felt the need to test even though we are careful. Do I need to see a doctor or will this resolve on its own? Any suggestions? I leave in a few days for a vacation (first one in 7 years) and I really don't want to have to miss it so please help.
