Chronic Hepatitis B

Hi,
I am new to this forum. I was detected with Hep B in 2002. My HBV DNA load was very high and enzymes were also elevated. Had undergone Interferon therapy for four months followed by Lamuvudine for one year. My sero conversion took place and HBeAg became negative and Anti HBe became positive. Recently my HBV DNA levels have been increasing. Six months back they were 3000 iu/ml and now have become 9270 iu/ml. The anti bodies are still positive and antigen is negative.
Do i need to take medication?
Please advice.
Thanks

Did your doctor mention resistance or adding medication?

I had stopped Lam in Nov 03. After that my HBV DNA loads had come down. Offlate they seem to be increasing. Last six months they have tripled from 3000 iu/ml to 9270 iu/ml. SGOT and SGPT are normal.

Please discuss with your doctor for possible LAM resistance.  When did you stop LAM and why did you stop?
