An update for any in case someone is interested;
I had full STD panel 175 days after exposure, HIV AB/AG, Hep B/C, Syphilis, and got back all the tests NEGATIVE.
Hep B;
HBsAg - Negative
HBsAb- Reactive >1000.00 iu/l
Anti-hbc - Negative
And I had a full blood panel (WBC, LTF) at 160 days which all was normal.
The doctor at the disease central says that this is final, and conclusive.
Still have the same dull ache under (behind) my lower right ribs. Atleast I know that its not caused by Hep b or C.
Thanks all!
VeteranB, I don't want to judge you, but how can you say my ALT is elevated when I am FAR below reference value? Don't acute hepatitis usually ten fold the normal value?
I've had EBV 6 years ago, then my ALT was slightly elevated above reference value, and I felt like ****.
I did full STD panel at 97 days after exposure, and all negative.
I really wonder if the stress and anxiety can cause the dull ache in my right upper quadrant...
Hep b you can rule out. You are immune. You have antibodies against surface antigen. Hep C I am not sure about. Some people dont have antibodies just viral load. So you could order HCV RNA. PCR.
I would order complete std panel without hep b though and have checked out for everything. It could be CMV or EBV those cause mild hepatitis.
Justt try to repeat the ALt test in a week and see if things change. You are slightly elevated but not to much to worry about. Some people have higher alt. .
Hi VeteranB, and thanks for your reply.
Yes I was vaccinated 9 years ago with three shots in the recommended time frame. And test results seem to indicate I was successful.
Once you have the symptoms, you will always test positive, right?
You think my ALT was high? But it was within the reference value?
I did not eat anything 20 hours before the test.
Is 97 day test conclusive for hep b and c?
from what it says here on your labs looks like you were vaccinated. You have HBsAb positive 25.51 iu/l only that means it is immune after vaccination. People that have recovered from HBV always have anti-HBcAb (anti core protein antibody)
So if you test negative for all Hep viruses and HIV I think 4 months is a good point to stop warring. with HBV you usually feel it like in 7-10 days, people have flue like illness, skin turns green or yellow, extreme fatigue, slight fever. For some is high fever. HIV is kind of the same symptoms, viral infections all resemble cold or a flue, just it last longer.
Sometimes stress can cause muscle cramps too, mind is a powerful thing how it can offset the body.
Your ALT is slightly elevated though. Did you fast for 8 hours when you did that test?
If you are worried run complete STD panel tests, and do immunogram with CD4/CD8 ratios complete panel. That will tell them if there is any infection present.
