That's great news! All the best to you!
Go for it, 'Miracle Max'! Congratulations on SVR12 and thanks for the chuckle on your proposed name change. Pat
That is fantastic news. Congratulations!
I know you went through hell with the Incivek triple treatment, the liver decompensation, the HCC, and the chemo. I am so happy for you that you got your liver transplant and are now UND at 3 months Post EOT. Your SVR chances are excellent. It sounds like you are doing great. : )
Congratulation! Great news! I'm so happy for you!
Way to go Miracle Max! Best news I heard all day. Onward to SVR
CONGRATULATIONS! HH (MM)
As I am sure your hepatologist has told you SVR12 is now considered a cure.
A retrospective study of all phase III Sovaldi trials in Hepatology Nov 2014 showed that no patient with genotype 1 or 2 relapsed between weeks 12 and 24.
There is no data showing that us post liver transplant patients are any different than those who haven't needed transplantation as far as SVR is concerned. All post liver transplant hepatitis C trials by Gilead or AbbVie use SVR12 as the end point for cure.
I recently was SVR12 after 12 weeks of Sovaldi, Olysio + Ribavirin.
We now have no more worries about hep C destroying our new healthy livers.
Be well!
Hector
Hector..talk about going through the mill! Mine was a piece of cake compared to some of your stories! Glad all is well. I have been told svr12 is considered "cured" but will certainly look forward to the test next quarter :-)
Hepcandme, it is funny, and maybe because I lived with hep c for over 50 years.. But I am not sure what normal feels like anymore! Plus I am learning at 63 that age has its own realities.
I am still working, paddle kayaks, fish, work in the yard, etc.. But am finding a nap at 5 or so is a nice thing, something I never did before.
I wish I could say that the new liver and no hep c "turned back the clock" but I am not sure of that. I do know it has given me a lot more clock than I had a year ago! Thank God..
I will say the peace of mind is worth any amount of "pep" I might be missing. While I never really dwelled on it before, (seriously.. You can only do what you do, worry only exacerbates the situation) the realization that most of it is behind me (transplant do require some care, but it's no big thing) just makes waking up and going about life so joyful.. And I have to remind myself daily what a miracle has occurred and to make the most of every minute of it.
Thanks all for your thoughts and prayers! I continue to keep you all in mine.
Congratulations to you and Solvadi/Olysio.
Hey HH Congrats!! Serve that "Eviction Notice!"
Peace & good Karma
