Can anyone suggest a good moisturizer/sunscreen to use during tx?

I need to find a different moisturizer/sunscreen for my face. Its getting really dry.
What I've been using doesn't irritate but just seems to dry out.
So, let me know what working for you.
Thanks!
OH

I use Cetaphil cream because I have a problem with fragrance. The lotion is nice, but the cream is great when your skin is really dry. Costco has it pretty reasonably priced.

Let's see, I'm not on triple therapy, just a geno 2 doing SOC and neupogen.
I was specifically looking for something for my face. What I have isn't working well during tx.
For my body, rather hands and feet,  I have a great sunscreen from Australia and use a coconut oil based lotion, I have stronger salves for my feet, etc.

For years I've used coconut oil but not on my face.
It's yummy but doesn't travel well, seems to always leak out and get on everything.

Now, I stand in the health food store or the pharmacy aisles staring at racks of stuff and I'm overwhelmed. They aren't cheap. I just want something for the 6 months of therapy which will work on a sensitive face.

Thanks everyone. You've given me some good products to check out.

I swear I'm not a Gold Bond salesman as was pitched on here after I first found the stuff but for me it was the only thing that helped me. I dont think it has sunscreen in it though so for the face I would go with something else, or use the GB at night.

oh yeah, for the body you can use Blue Lizard, its cheaper, but its Zinc and its the least drying at the price I've seen yet.
I have been an esthetician for 12 years and worked for a couple of doctors, one plastic surgeon for 3 years where we researched products, there is so much BS in this industry and sorting through the hype is a job.
good luck

Sunscreens, Zinc is the best to date but may be drying, the best moisturizer, sunscreen I've found is put out by Osmosis, its called shelter, it is 18% zinc that is encapsulated to stay on the surface of the skin with moisturizing factors.
Sunscreens that are made with chemicals may be causing oxidative damage to the skin cells because they have to penetrate and mix with the cells, Zinc is a barrier and refracts the sun.  Also you need more than one chemical to provide the protection from the full spectrum and they degrade at different times.
Zinc is the safest, most effective to date.
you may want to moisturize before hand, another thing about moisturizing is promoting light exfoliation, enzymes, lactic acid, because the cells on the surface are dead cells, and they are dry, if you exfoliate adequately, note too much, you are exposing the newer, more hydrated cells, but in the winter, things do get dryer and with meds skin gets dryer, you can use an oil like jojoba, which is close to the skins own sebum or argan oil.  Or if you want to get fancy, Osmosis moisturizer called Quench. Mychelle also has some nice over the counter moisturizers as well as Dr. Haushka, (talk about $$) they are at least good quality.  Coconut oil is nice too,, it is a good carrier for essential oils too.
or occasionally you can make a mask w/ yogurt and honey, sit in the tub and relax.

Cetaphil Cream in the tub is not with the other moisterizers, it's with the facial creams.  A bit pricey but well worth it, I've used it for years.

I'm gonna get Cetaphil and cocoanut oil tomorrow. I use VIT E oil mixed w. grapeseed oil and jojoba on my face. I was having a lot of eczema type dryness around my eyes. Then after that absorbs, clarins sunscreen and foundation.
Someone on here suggested A & D ointment around the eyes. cleared me up within a day or 2.
keep us posted. karen

I use Cetaphil in the tub.  Dermatologist suggested it and not as greasy as Eucerin.  It sure helps with itchy, burning skin at night!

I love my coconut oil.  It works for my face and all over. And it's totally natural so no artificial ingredients for the liver to process.

Are we still discussing the face?  I use clinique products but have also used Renova.  My problem is the lips and eyelids.

Hi, I really like aveeno daily moisturizer. I also like to put cocoanut water in a little spray bottle. Super soothing. I keep it in the fridge. I can even spray it in my mouth.

I don't like Eucerin - too greasy. I prefer the really thick lotions like Gold Bond and Aveeno.  Aveeno makes a lotion with an SPF of 15 which is all I need.  I like the Gold Bond Medicated (the one in the green bottle) when the creepy crawly skin starts.

I sure am starting to dry out too.  I sit at the TV and start lathering on the lotion on my legs and feet.  It just absorbs so fast it is unreal.

I am pushing 60 and suffer from drier skin in the winter.  It took me a while to figure out that I made it worse by long hot showers in the winter.

I started using eucerin also, but once when they didn't have it I got some with PABA; a sunscrceeeeeeeeeeen.

Welllll I was allergic to that and just got itchier and itchier; bad nights sleep and got up in the middle of the night to see what the h3ll I had done.
Turns out many people are sensitive to PABA.

Make sure you find one that suits you before TX and realize that if you do triple therapy many people get rashes in spite of best efforts.  For gawds sake don't add something that could make it worse.

My one little adventure,

willy

I use Eucerin  sensitive skin Everyday protection face lotion.  SPF 30.  It is really light weight light.  I also use it on my neck chest and arms.   I really like it!     pink and white bottle.  I discovered it when I took a client to a dermatologist appointment .  They had a basket of little trial size on the counter.  you can get it most drugstores or a place like walmart
