Like everyone else, I want to say I'm sorry you're feeling ill.
Having had weird hospital experiences, especially while in Taiwan where they gave me meds which should never, ever, be given together, I empathize. My husband kept printing stuff out from the internet and they still ignored it.
We do have to remain vigilant with our health care. It's our bodies, not the doctor or nurses. And obviously, just because one has a degree doesn't mean they are intelligent.
An Indian man once told me, in response to my questions, that Asian people do not like to say, " I don't know." Add that to the ego of many doctors and you have a terrible combination.
Hi Deb,
Just saw this and had to jump on the wagon wishing you the best.
A couple of weeks ago I was flat on my back with fever, vomiting, diarrhea...either I caught a bad bug or my HepC came back after 3 years SVR (sarcasm). I'm going with the flu.
Doctors can be some of the dumbest smart people. From reading your post it's obvious that it pixxed you off.
Feeling better? Say hi to Una.
Mike
Glad you're feeling better.
Dear Deb, so very sorry to hear you were so sick. I am also sorry you had to deal with such an idiot for a doctor. My husband was in the hospital at the same time as you with obstruction. We were fortunate to get out when we did.
My deepest sympathy, talk about adding insult to injury.
I hope you are feeling better.
D
Thanks BRO , you just made my day :-)
Currenty waiting on new PCR....

Your SVR Bro you just don't know it yet.
Should I SVR I plan on waving a letter on Weil Cornell , Division of
of Gastroentereology and Hepatology stationary signed by Dr. J
in front of anybody`s face that might have a question......
b
Hey that's a pretty good darn idea. I do plan on using Dr. J in my letter - if these hick PCPs don't know that name then I give up.........although judging by all that went on I am not sure what they know any longer. I'm going next week and will find out.
It's just so stupid I mean if hepc comes and goes even after SVR what in the world would all be treating for? Duh.
In the waiting area during one of my Dr. Jacobson appointments there was a big
sign stating that Hep C is curable.
I asked him about that and if in the event of SVR if I could get that in writing .
Now I am not SVR yet but you are and you were treated by Dr. J
Why don`t you get it in writing ?
Sorry to hear about the trouble that you're having with that stupid doctor. I once had a nurse tell me that there was no cure for hep c. I hope you feel better soon.
Vik
Hope you get your ordeal straightened out and good luck with your letters.Gosh if hep c is that easy to treat-Im coming to see that doc LOL !!!!!take care cindy
World if full of ignorant people and we cannot avoid them and they do us harm.
The most important thing, Deb, is that you are SVR for many years!
Enjoy life of a hep free person who, yes, sometimes can get sick!
Take good care.
"Deb, I'm wondering if there is something going on in another body area"
I've been wondering that for a while myself!
Get Well Soon!!
glad you made it out alive. hospitals can be verrrry dangerous places. i wonder how the doc figured she treated you for hcv? there are some scary docs out there for sure.
love
eric
My doctor told me today that pcps are prescribing telepravir on it's ow without SOC because they are so ignorant of the disease and treatment. Vertex is sending reps out to train them. It is so important that we take responsibility for our own health care. Hope that you are feeling better.
The most important thing is you're back and taking no prisoners. lol. Good to hear you are back with us.
I have had the exact same thing happen including cr_p written on the release form. I hope everything works out for you, but I have never had a Dr. stick-up for me or even look into a situation, no matter how obviously wrong it was,( it seems to be a code of ethics.) which is why I always do it myself just to make me feel better, or try to get over it fast if I feel there is nothing I can do.
This is a classic example of a little knowledge being a dangerous thing.
I'm glad you're away from there, I'm sure things will look brighter soon, I,m sure you know what to do, wait a week to get over it then take off early one day, go buy a new outfit then go home and take a warm bubble-bath O O before going out.

Wellcome back,
Griz
oh crap! that stinks that she wrote that on your discharge papers, thats really great!!!!
I would put that in my letter as well. Hope you see your real Doc soon and this gets fixed. Glad you are feeling better though and back at work.!
I'm back at work today (in my new lesser capacity position but much much less stress) so I guess I will be OK.
I wanted to thank everybody for their thoughts I do believe they helped me get better.
Tomorrow when I am more organized I am starting my letter to the practice that that doctor is at and the state of CT. YOu know on my discharge papers she wrote in addition to the other stuff that she treated me for hepc. Yup. Now that is on my medical records like I actually have it! And in my insurance too. Grreat what an igorant person can do to you.......my real doctor better take care of this!
remember lab rat survival rule no. 3 : never let the health care system stop you from getting well. Hope the witch Dr. flew away on her broom and you're feeling better.
I'm so sorry to read this post. I hope you are feeling better and have gotten to the bottom of whatever the heck is going on. Good for you for giving that dumb@$$ doc the "whatfor"!! There's only about a million other reasons our LFTs can be elevated. Such ignorance!!!! I say we flood her ofice with educational phone calls and letters regarding the facts of HCV =)
(((hugs)))
