Has Anyone Started a Prescription for Sovaldi yet?

Just curious. I had an appointment with my hepatologist that was rescheduled from the end of November 2013 to the end of March 2014 because they stated that actual drug availability and insurance issues would need to be worked out. They stated that all patients that have been warehoused were rescheduled for appointments in March. I note that my BCBS insurance lists Sovaldi as covered but the pharmacy management plans for specialty drugs do not yet list Sovaldi. Gilead lists several pharmacy distribution centers that currently warehouse Sovaldi but not management plans (i.e., CareMark, Express Scripts).

I called to see if I could be put on a waiting list for an earlier appointment and was told they did not yet have the drug (was an administrator so I am not sure they understood how the approved use of the drug was being distributed).

Just curious whether anyone had actually filled a prescription in the U.S. I know that over 800 prescriptions have already been written since its approval, but how many have actually been filled?

Hi
My primary ins denied Sovalda/Olysio combo. My work insurance plan (EMBS) has a 10k  per month limit. Received  denial letters form them (after 45 days)
I am trying to get my secondary ins Premera Blue Cross to approve this prescription - anyone have exp with secondary ins plans paying for it.

My husband started Salv/Rib 12 days ago.. So far he has only had some tiredness. He is having a lot of cramping for the last 2 days but I am not sure if it is due to the meds or what..
He has had the cramping many of times in the past. He is a Geno1 and this is his second time to do a therapy. He tried Interferon, pregus and Ribavion  back in 2012 but didn't work.  So far all the comments that I have read have been really good. So here is hoping for the best..
Thank you for all that have shared with us. I am hoping and excited to see who and how many have gotten through this and has gotten rid of it.. Good luck everyone and keep up the updates..and the positive attitudes.. God Bless you guys..

Congratulations...soon...soon...I hope you will be able to say you do not have hepatitis C.

I am only on day 12. I waited a long time for approval but I do not think it was my insurance or specialty pharmacy that held things up.  Yup...we are very lucky.

Enjoy your life!!!!
