I, too, was told that it is imperative to take the incivek every 8 hours in order to keep a constant amount of the drug in the bloodstream. The literature gives a 7 - 9 hour window, but I think you need to do everything in your power to stick to the 8 hour schedule. I also found that I got distracted at work so I set my cell phone alarm for 2:30 to remind me to eat and then the most annoying alarm to ring at 3:00 and 3:10. I also set my meds on my desk so they are right there.
The 20grams of fat is also important since this maximizes absorption. At times it is very hard to eat this, but read labels, experiment and see what works for you. I make a peanut butter and butter sandwich on high fiber bread at night so it is ready for me at 6:30 in the morning. My milk is poured and in the fridge. This makes my morning so much easier. I generally have a nonfat yougurt as a snack at 11:30 since I find that I am actually hungry. Then at 2:30 pm I have an avocado and some greek yogurt. I generally have been skipping dinner and around 10:30 I have my evening fat snack. It might be cheese or ice cream. If I am not feeling well, I usually opt for a milk shake.
The other thing I have found is that drinking lots and lots of water helps me to feel better. So I am aiming for a minimum of 64 ounces a day.
Good luck!
My doc say every eight hours for the incevik and I thinks it's pretty important to take it on time because that's what keeps the hep from mutating or evolving. The 20grams of fat *****, you have to learn to eat a lot of small meals during the day. It's gotten easier for me. I make a protein shake in the morning with whole milk and a tablespoon of peanut butter, that's about 30 grams, at 11 am I eat some fruit and usually eat a sandwich at 2. When I get home from work I eat dinner, not as much as I used to then at ten I eat ice cream, I'll do a shake if I'm not real hungry or a stouffers supreme frozen pizza is 21 grams of fat. Good luck
