Nurse/Nurse/Nurse

Hi to All Members of Forum HIV AND Hepatitis C

Yesterday i decided to get a Tetanus Vaccine in one of Government Hospital Here in Middle East .

My friend get me some proper channel to get the vaccine Free.

The nurse is friend of my friend GF so i decided to get the vaccine. I waited nurse in ER when she comes i see the anti tetanus vaccine is in his hand.

I did not see nurse open the anti tetanus vaccine.. Do i need to trust the nurse that injected to me.. What will be the case that can i put on her if the nurse reused the needle. Here in middle is the most conservative place on earth  even big/small mistake/negligence that your committed you will be goes to jail.

1. if nurse re used the needle to me if will be risk for hiv and hcv?
2. Do i need to worry?

I think that would be a very good plan to talk to the nurse before the injection about your concerns in the future.  Sounds like your know the nurse injected you with a pre load, ready to inject, boxed vaccine that should have been opened in your presents.  Because the nurse is a friend of a friend you didn't question that the nurse.

Best Regards To You Too,

Actually the nurse use the anti tetanus vaccine.. it is like when you open the box you will see a transparent plastic cover and the vaccine is already with plastic and you will just put syringe and ready to inject.. and the nurse that injected to me is best friend of gf of my friend.

I think she will not put some diseases to..Hope for the best i will try to talk to that nurse who injected anti tetanus vaccine.

Thank you and best regards,

"or any advice to ease my fears regarding the needle"
___________________________________

I see here you later say your a nurse.  So all this is just a hypothetical situation where a nurse might be accused of reusing a needle they could have used before.  You have presented this as if your the patient not the nurse,  So I would like to tell you what it really feels like when a nurse walks in the room with a loaded open syringe to give you a shot.

You don't know where this needled syringe has been before it came into the room.  You don't know where the nurse may have sat down the syringe before coming into the room.  You don't know if the syringe is a preloaded syringe before coming into the room.  You don't know what bottle they my have used to load the syringe.  You don't know about the syringe if you didn't see where the syringe had been before coming into the room.  Do human beings make mistakes....even nurses?.....Yes!   Has there been situations where a nurse has infected a patient with Hepatitis C?...Yes!  Is it rare?...Yes.  So how would a nurse ease the concerns and fears when giving a shot to a patient?
............do everything in front of them.  Not in the other room.  That is what I expect from a nurse or healthcare professional.  Ease the mind of a patient
and don't create a situation where a patient might have doubt about your
practices as a healthcare professional.  Should we openly trust you because your a nurse?...No!  Should you make every effort to put our concerns and fears to rest because your a trained/educated nurse?....Yes.  Should a patient have a right to question your practices as a nurse?...Yes!

Hope this gives you some insight

I read this post from other member..i think it is the best answer that i get from this forum

Thank you and i will move on my life

I am a nurse, and I can tell you that NO nurse or other healthcare provider is going to be so "negligent" as to reuse a needle on someone. This does not happen. No nurse is going to leave a used needle laying around, then pick it up again, not realize it was used, and use it on another person. Leaving used needles laying around poses more risk to the healthcare worker than to you- he/she would NEVER do this, nor would they risk losing their job by doing this.

This is a very irrational fear that you need to let go of now. I promise that nurse did not reuse a needle on you. You have NO idea how much is it pounded into our heads, ingrained into our minds, to NEVER do something like that. It is called infection control. We abide by it

"Theres a cases of nurses reused the needle to there patient?"

For anyone here to comment on whether or not the nurse reused the needle would be pure speculation.

"or any advise to ease my fears regarding the needle."

If your worried get tested it is the only way to know for sure if you have been exposed or not

Have a great day

"What will be the case that can I put on her if the nurse reused the needle? "
_____________________________________________

"IF" she the nurse reused the needle there would be a reason to be concerned.  The fact is you don't know "IF" she did because you never saw
"IF' she did.   So now you are concerned she "might" have done this. "IF"and "MIGHT" are not grounds for a "CASE".

Don't worry...be happy
