Look for the fibrosis regression studies posted here recently.  I have heard of folks that regressed from 4 to 1 or 0.  Stats in the recent study (if I remember correctly) say 20% of cirrhotics can clear the fibrosis all the way.  I'm hoping to be one of them and will continue to be cautious with little alcohol, avoiding steroids, no NSAIDS or chemical exposure for the next year when I will re-biopsy.   Have hope.  Think positive and make an extra effort.  You could as easily fall into the good stats as the bad.

There have been lots of studies published on here lately if you do a search.
Not everyone has a vast amount of regeneration but some sure do.
You can't know how you are going to do but I just posted a thread about the effects of intereferon five years later helping to still clear the liver of fibrosis.
I just posted it like two days ago it should help ease your mind.

I have a friend that went from Stage 4 to Stage 1. The proof is in the 5-7 year biopsies that followed the HALT C patients who cleared and had repeat biopsies 5-7 years after SVR was achieved.
