Swimming Pool and Hep C

I have a question, my husband has Hepc C, Genotype 3
And we want to go to a public pool but I am afraid, I was told that People with Hep C can easily catch Hep B.
DO you think it is dangerouse for a Hep C patient to catch Hep B from the swimming pool???

He needs get the HAV and B vaccine regardless if he goes swimming or not. If he does choose to go, the HAV vaccine may come in quite handy if it turns out that a Babe Ruth looking thing come floating by.

Going to the pool is safe for you as well as for other swimmers. Hepatitis C or B can not be transmitted by using the pool.

I second what Trin says.

I think you both should get the hep A and B vaccine. It is called Twinrix and consists of 3 vaccines at 0, 1 and 6 months.

Anyone with Hep C should be innoculated with the Hep A and Hep B vaccine.  No, I would not be concerned and do not think it's dangerous.  You are at far greater risk of catching  E. coli from a public pool.
