Hep C Pos. & late/irregular period

Hey all

I am in recovery,  and was diagnosed with hep c this year. My period has been irregular- no show one or two months and then a big one.

Now my period is MIA, and as of this week it'll be my second missing flow. My last pne was during thanksgiving and I had sex just after it ended-like 24 hrs after.

Because of the hep, my body gets bloated easily. Im having scary symptoms that are familiar,  but could be anything else.

Long story short,  I'm freaking out, of course.  Does anyone with hep experience or insight know if there is anything I don't know to expect-like say infertility?  I read that it could be a side effect,  but I don't have cirrhosis or scarring on my liver which I know can be the cause of said side effect. ..

On top of it im sick with the flu :( goody.

Any help is much appreciated! !! Thanks

M

I suggest you take on board the good suggestions above. I assume you are still of child-bearing age, as you voice that you are worried about infertility.
You mention 'in recovery' . Is that from a drug addiction? Using drugs and then subsequent detox can disrupt the regular menstrual cycle,
There is a forum here called Women's Health Community, which you could peruse.
Changes in menstrual flows etc should always be looked into. Get your GP to give you a smear, or a referral to a Gynecologist."there is nothing to worry about until you have somethi9ng to worry about.
Making and keeping appointments isn't scary. The results may be on occasions, but at the end of the day, your health is in your hands.
Better to know than worry, I say.
good luck.

hi and welcome to the forum. I agree with Jules it would help if you stated how old you  are because of course it could be the start of the menopause and a simple blood test will confirm it either way. Best wishes Jules
