Herpetic Urethritis?
I have a fever, sore throat, and painful urination.
I am 25 year old male. I began having pretty painful urination about four days ago and developed a sore throat about three days ago. Also when I looked inside the opening of my urethra it looked a bit swollen. I went to the doctor yesterday and he took a urine sample which came back negative for a U.T.I. He then gave me an antibiotic shot and two Azithromycin pills to take. Since then the fever has died down and the swelling inside my urethra seems to have subsided a bit although it still burns when I pee.
I had sex with a new girl about four days ago but we used a condom, although I did perform oral sex on her. She said that she was just getting over having strep throat so perhaps that could be the reason for my sore throat? Before her I had protected and unprotected sex with another girl of and on for about three months although that was almost six months before the most recent girl. I am 100% sure that the girl from six months ago was clean. Previous to that girl I did have sex with some less that Ideal partners and that was probably at least nine months to a year ago.
I have never had any outbreaks of bumps or lesions around my genitals at all but I am still pretty worried that the symptoms I am experiencing are due to Herpes sores inside my urethra.

they also test for syphilis when you donate blood/plasma too :)
why are you squeezing your penis dear? you want to have more pain?
continue to follow up regularly with your doctor. if nothing comes up, see an urologist.

The doctor said that he was going to run tests for gonorrhea/chlamydia/trich. He told me he didn't usually run test for herpes unless there were sores or something of that nature. Also up until recently I donated plasma and they ran tests for HIV/hepatitis which were apparently always negative or I would have been deferred.
Since I last posted I have also developed a smooth bump on the top part of my mouth by my teeth and my gums are swollen. It still hurts to pee a bit but not as bad. It also hurts when I squeeze the tip of my penis.
I'm starting to find it odd that all this stuff started to manifest itself a couple days after I slept with that new girl. I went down on her and if she had something that would explain the mouth problems. most people do not get proper std testing. they don't get the full testing done nor do they do it at the right times. do you?
herpes urethritis is a pain all the time, not just with urination. you also would have obvious herpes lesions on the genitals too, not just inside your urethra.
what testing did they do when you were seen? just basic urine testing or full std testing?
