Hi,
Last night my current partner and I were with each other relaxing and making out.
Prior to this she told me and pointed out that she had a cold sore in the corner of her lip (where her lips meet) on the left side. She told me that she has had reoccurring cold sores since age 10 when she shared a drink with her friend. The cold sore, however, is very mild in its nature as it isn't oozing with puss, isn't shedding or have yellow crust. In fact, because it was so mild (looking very similar to her lip shade, not dried out and only giving a mild sensation of pain (described as pressing down on a scab when pushed in and touched), I kissed her anyways, not knowing that one can cause the other (and because so many other people have cold sores too, I figured it wasn't a huge problem, similar to kissing someone when they have a cold)
Post making out, I performed oral sex on her and she to me. This is where my concern is...
Because I can't recall ever having a cold sore in my life, what are my chances of receiving a cold sore or even genital herpes? Is it possible that this very mild, reoccurring spot may not even be a cold sore?
Also, in the case that I do receive a cold sore or genital herpes and it IS a reoccurring case, is there any research involving the use of marijuana prior to receiving the virus? Is it more likely to not show?
The only thing I can do now is wait and see what happens I know.
Funny Side Note: When I got home I texted a joke to her saying that I have a high risk of genital herpes now and she flipped. Little did I know that this could actually happen given the circumstances.
Irony at its finest.
