HSV 1 transmission from dinner

I recently had diiner about three weeks ago at a friends house whose wife has a history of cold sores. I used their utensils and she had no visible signs of a cold sore and I am assuming the utensils she gave me were clean and I did not share them with anyone. My question is if its possible to contract HSV 1 from this situation?

yes it is. you can have canker sore and oral herpes both.

if you are going to fear herpes, get tested to know your own status so you know if your fears are warranted or not.

Thanks grace for your response. I haven't been tested for herpes as I am afraid to get the results. I have had canker sores all my life and have no memory of ever having a cold sore and have not had one since feared exposure. My question is if its possible to have oral Herpes with only sores inside the mouth and no cold sores on the outside(lips etc)?

this was absolutely no risk at all for you.

did you ever follow up with testing on yourself from back when you posted before with oral herpes concerns?
