So hard to get answers for Oral HSV2

I am a concerned and worried mother. I've posted my concerns in herpes opportunity a month ago on the website to two experts there, one person did answer and for some odd reason I could never log back into my account. I tried yesterday and its like my account doesnt exist. Ive done so much research on oral HSV2 and I've  read the questions and concerns of people and the answers are always short, brief as if this doesnt exist at all. I know it is rare but anything is possible. I've posted my concern in medhelp and I don't know if it is because its concerning a child or the rare oral HSV2 that no one wants to tackle this issue. I am seeking help and answers.

Oral hsv2 is a possibility. Mostly caught through sexual contact. It sounds concerning because you are talking about a child with it, which to me raises red flags.

Yes I am fully aware that HSV2 is caught through sexual contact and that is how I caught it. And I have never ever sexually abused my child. I had my son tested June 1st because I was worried if I had passed this to him by him drinking and eating after me during the times where I did not know I had herpes. His results were negative. I found out I had herpes 2 months ago and after my diagnosis I have not shared anything with my son and I have not even kissed him on his cheeks and typing that breaks my heart. I was just recently diagnosed with HSV1 and HSV2. Being that Ive never had a genital outbreak, only oral outbreak and that I used protection at all times with intercourse but no protection with oral sex.  My concern is that I have obtained HSV2 from my ex while giving oral sex.

1. If i have HSV2 orally and I kissed someone and not that I will be doing that for a while, Would it transmit as HSV2 or HSV1 being that it is not in its preferred location?

2. Where can I get reliable information on HSV2 orally?

3. What do I need to do to find out which strain is orally and which strain is genitally.

Thank you for any answers you can provide.

HSV1 and HSV2 are practically the same. Except they both have a preference of location. HSV2 thrives in your genitals wheras HSV1 thrives on your mouth.
It doesn't matter which strain you transmit to him, they both have the same effect. Except HSV2 above the waist would show up less often than HSV1. HSV1 is actually not too friendly, it can travel up your ganglia into your eyes or your brain in the future (rare I'm sure, but possible).
My advice is that you watch for signs and symptoms in your boy. If you do notice cold sores just treat them and have his pediatric doctor prescribe some antivirals. Make sure he doesn't pick at it and such. If he doesn't show any symptoms I wouldn't be too worried. He could have it but it probably won't show up till later and by then he'll have antibodies to protect the rest of his body.
Now I'm not saying he has it but if he does than doctors will know what to do. I got hsv1 as a child and the only outbreaks I remember were when I was 13 and one 8 years later.

Thank you for replying back. He has not shown any signs of cold sores on his face, but he's had bumps to appear on his legs. I spoke with his Doctor yesterday and she reassured me that he does not have it and that his issues are allergy related. She explained that his body is releasing antihistamines and thats why he is having the itching episodes. And the main symptom that is alarming is that he's always saying that it feels like something is in his throat. He tested negative for Strep throat. We will be seeing an ENT doctor next week and im thinking it may be related to his tonsils.  He has had a tough time with his allergies for the last 3 months he's never had severe problems with allergies. In the past I would give him his allergy meds and they clear up but since this has been ongoing for the past 3 months and I found out I've been pinning his symptoms to what I have going on. I hope it is all anxiety and paranoia. Its been tough just dealing with my diagnosis, but I'm getting better each day. Thanks for your advice, I will watch out for anything out of the ordinary and take the necessary steps.
