Is it common for a test to come equivocal & the retest to come out negative?
No, your UTI would not impact your HSV test. Your equivocal ab isn't conclusive. Re-test in 16 weeks to see whether more antibodies have formed. If it comes back negative, you don't have HSV.
Hi I have a question. I had my blood test checked for STDs & everything came out Negative except for herpes 2 which came out equivocal with a 1.07. I had recently had a urine infection can that be why it came out a 1.07? Or should I be prepared for the worst? Please help
you tested too early for the std's you were at risk for from protected sex. because unprotected oral can also transmit std's, you did need chlamydia and gonorrhea testing and that was accurate 1 week post encounter. you have to wait at least 6 weeks post encounter for syphilis testing. you have to wait at least 3 months post encounter for herpes testing. we don't have tests to adequately cover the hpv risk. have you had your gardasil shot series for hpv?
