Genital Herpes from kissing and cold sore? Please help!

I have been searching for the answer to this question and I have not found it anywhere on any website.  If I myself have a cold sore on my lip, and the guy I am seeing makes out with me, and then he gives me oral sex, can my oral herpes infection spread to my genitals?  I know that if he had a cold sore and gave me oral sex there is a chance of contracting genital herpes, but I have never seen this question answered.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

no - your own hsv1 infection will not be transmitted to your genital area in this way.
