Symptoms?

Hello - I had an admittedly low-risk exposure (oral) a little over 2 weeks ago.  Despite others telling me my chances of contracting HSV are low, I've been freaking out about it ever since.  Up until now, I have not had any visual symptoms around the mouth, but have had burning sensation in mouth (dry), occasional night sweats (when worry was severe) and general muscle aches, particularly in my lower back, which seem like they could both be caused by my severe anxiety.  Still, the fact that they COULD be symptoms of HSV are not helping calm me down.

My question is this: If I've had the above symptoms almost daily for 2 full weeks, would any oral lesions have appeared by now?  Or is it possible that these are early symptoms and sores could still crop up?

Thanks...I needed that encouragement.  I've really been on edge over this.

In theory a first outbreak can be years if ever after infection, there is no particular timing. However if you do not have any form of HSV then you are likely to experience an outbreak.

This all means that it is more likely this is stress related than herpes.

Further, as half the population is infected with HSV1 in their youth, with many not knowing it, then it is unlikely you'd be having the style of initial symptoms you suspect them to be.

No, not sure about that.  I was thinking maybe this was an initial outbreak.  I'm well past 10 days, but have read that initial outbreaks can happen up to 3 weeks after exposure.  But I've been having these (hopefully) anxiety symptoms for  2 weeks going with no "visual" manifestations...

Cold sores can come up at any time after infection, although if you do  not have any form of HSV then you are likely to experience an outbreak in the 2-10 days after infection.

Do you know for sure that you do not already have a HSV1 infection from your youth?

PS: Also have had minor sore throat for these 2 weeks, but have been trying to tell myself it's mainly due to my dry mouth, which I'm hoping is just being caused by anxiety.
