HSV results I wasnt expecting...

Can someone interpret this for me?  Is this a combined test?  I was under the impression type specific was the way to go and was what I was getting.  Are these results sufficient to say no herpes of either type is present?  Thanks!

Lab: HSV I/II, IgG/Rfx Type II IgG

Name                 Value                       Reference Range

HSV I/II IgG           0.3                            0.0-0.8 index

This test was apparently ordered as well but doesnt seem to have any results.  Blood work was done 2 days ago.  Any insight you can provide here would be appreciated!  Thanks!

Lab: HSV 1 and 2 IgM Abs, Indirect

Name                                      Value                 Reference Range

HSV 1 IgM Antibodies

HSV 2 IgM Antibodies

If you have no reason to suspect herpes either orally or genitally and no previous partner has disclosed to you they have HSV2 then you can conclude you are HSV free in conjunction with the test result.

I am entering a new relationship and we decided to get all testing done.  I had never had an HSV test done before so I am am really new to the types of test and results.  Reading online I determined the combined test wasnt a good test b/c it doesnt differentiate.  However, since it appears I am combined negative I dont have either type 1 or 2 correct?  Havent been sexually active in about 4 months so hope this should be a pretty definitive diagnosis.  Thank you for answering.  Any further thoughts?

The combined IgG test is not a suitable test at all. The majority of people will test positive owing to a HSV1 infection.

You are negative, hence there is no evidence of a HSV1 or HSV2 infection.

Any particular reason you tested? How long from any encounter of concern to the test?
