Herpes From HandJob?

Hi all,

So i'm really concerned that I might have genital herpes. I'm going to fully describe how I might have contracted it and my symptoms and hopefully some of your real life experiences as well as experts on this site can help me.

So about 8-9 days ago I had sexual contact with someone who I now think was probably at high risk for std's, She gave me a rather vigorous handjob for about 3-4 minutes before i asked her to stop and I'm pretty sure she touched herself (both vagina and anal area) before she touched me.

My concern is that she touched herself (and she could have had an outbreak?) and then touched me. Since I conducted some research, I found out that herpes is probably the most likely risk.

Now here's what really scares me, my symptoms. The day after, being scared and hopeless, I emptied a tube of abreva on my genitals and rubbed it in (i know its stupid and probably didn't do much), I also put a tiny amount inside my urethra.

As soon as two days after I started to have an uncomfortable feeling and random tingling here and there and out of nowhere i got a fever and headache (flu like symptoms). The tingling was not severe and it was not continuous (it would tingle for maybe an instant and then stop), but it was strong enough that it would draw my attention. About 4-5 days after I started having slight itching here and there and a slight burning (not normal) while uriating.

Now its been more than a week and I definitly know something is wrong with my penis. I have some bumps on the shaft of my penis which do not itch, burn at all and have been there for about 3-4 days without changing or bursting or anything.

Ive tested but came back negative which don't really mean anything since its soo early.

I know all signs lead to herpes, and I am devastated, but I wanted to seek your opinion and help.

thanks you

This isn't due to herpes. follow up on it with your provider.

Unfortunately, what scares me is that if this was an irritation, 1.) it would have occurred very soon after my application of abreva, but the burning in the tip of my urethra only happened about 4 days after the application of abreva. and 2.) it would be a topical (skin) issue.

I'm also having random pain that seems to be nerve related at the tip of my penis, and I've also started to have lower abdominal pain for two days ( I know it seems like it would be anything but the pain is scattered and its not like cramps).

The thing is, I don't really know what he pain of herpes is like and online sources don't really help as they all say "symptoms may vary significantly in different individuals"...

this was pretty much no risk for herpes.    what you are experiencing now is probably from over dosing on abreva and putting it internally where it wasn't meant to be. follow up on this with your provider - you need to give a urine specimen probably too.  You do not sound like you have genital herpes.
