Herpes, or allergic reaction?

First, let me preface by saying I am happily married. There is no cheating on either side. Also, my entire life, I have been told i'm pretty badly allergic to any toilet paper but angelsoft, so I've always used that. Anytime I use anything else, I get very itchy and rashed, so i immediately switch.
About a week and a half ago, we moved into a new rental house. Soon after, my groin started getting pretty itchy. I got a rash, and, as i have before, got a little chaffed downstairs. Not that uncommon for me, being very naturally moist. Well, instead of getting better, it kept getting worse. and worse. And now, it's blistered up.
I automatically assume the worse. i figure, somehow, i've contracted herpes... scheduled a visit to an STD clinic, but the next appointment isn't for 8 days, so i have that long to worry over it. Well, my husband and I have refrained from having sex and everything until we figure it out. Just a few minutes ago, a light bulb seemed to click in my husband's head. I have been using off-brand toilet paper the entire stay at the rental house. I'm immediately going to change TP, but is it possible for the allergic reaction to be so bad that blisters form? It itches sooo bad and hurts to even walk most of the time... I will still go get tested either way, but some comfort would be nice... :/

your regular provider is fine for this. Unless your partner has had other partners, you know this isn't likely a std issue. Call today and see if you can get an appointment quickly - like today or tomorrow.  You also need tested for an uti too.

yes indeed you can have allergic reactions causing blisters. that said, odds are neither you nor your husband have ever been tested for herpes to know your status so it's not a bad idea to pursue type specific herpes igg blood testing to rule it out.

stop back and let us know how your appointment went :)

let me add some other info...
I've been pretty decently stressed out, husband is to be deployed in a month and a half, i had started a new job (which i got laid off of quickly), moving (of course), dealing with a toddler, all that jazz

also, i've been having to pee a LOT. and it sometimes burns, sometimes doesn't... but i'm very prone to UTI's as it runs in my family
