Herpes risk from brief oral sex

Hi I received oral sex for like 30 seconds that’s 2 months 2 weeks ago and I did herpes test iGg and IgM and they are written they are both negative but I’m not understanding the numbers written cut off and patient value ? Do they mean anything ? Or do they affect the result written negative

The numbers will never be zero, if that's your concern. The tests look for things that are similar molecular weights as herpes antibodies, and can sometimes pick up normal blood proteins that weigh similarly to the antibodies. No one ever gets a true zero value.

As long as it's below the negative range, you do not have herpes.

Since you only got 30 seconds of oral sex, I'm not surprised that you are negative. I wouldn't worry at all any longer. :)

I’m afraid because it’s written like this

Herpes igG    Results …Negative
Cut of value ……12.0
Patient value ….2.80

Herpes IgM  Results ….Negative
Cut of value ….1.0
Patient value …0.37

So I was scared about the igG because it went to 2.80  but I think because of the cut value positive is suppose to be above 12.0  so am I correct that might have survived this one

Yes, you aren't anywhere near the positive cut off, which is 12.0.

You are very clearly negative - it's not even close. :)
Thank you very much for your help I really appreciate it
You're welcome. :)
